About us

What is the American Wine Society?

The American Wine Society is a national non-profit consumer-based organization devoted to educating people on all aspects of wine. Its members are wine novices, experts, grape growers, amateur and professional winemakers, chefs, wine appreciators, wine educators, restaurateurs, and anyone interested in learning more about wine and gastronomy.

The Northampton Chapter is located in Northeast Pennsylvania.  Our members are primarily from the Allentown - Bethlehem - Easton region and surrounding areas.  Meetings take place once or twice each month in local restaurants or in members' homes.

Join Us!

To join, you need to register with both the national American Wine Society (AWS) organization and a local AWS chapter.  The national organization has a variety of membership plans available, but the most popular are an "individual" membership for $59/year, and a "household" membership (for two people at the same address) for $89/year.  You can register for one or two local chapters (we recommend that you select the Northampton chapter as your Primary chapter!). You can sign up for national membership using their Website

The Northampton chapter has one membership level. Each household pays $10/year.  Once you become a Northampton Chapter member you can register for all of our wine tastings, educational events, and BYOBs.  You can sign up for membership online by entering your email below.

Guest policy:  Members are encouraged to bring guests to our events.  The national AWS insurance policy restricts guests to a maximum of three in-person events.
